EN3B grade flat bars
Our bright mild steel flat bars are available in EN3B grade – the standard for bright mild steel across the UK. Thanks to their good machinability and weldability, our bright mild steel flat bars are perfect for engineering applications and general machining.
Bright mild steel is black mild steel that is cold-finished and then drawn. This grants it a cleaner surface finish and greater accuracy when cut outside the nominal dimension. This also gives them a cleaner surface finish, making them ideal for applications that need well-defined edges and smooth surfaces.
The perfect construction material
Perfect for construction, our bright mild steel flat bars can be easily joined together. And thanks to their low carbon content, they are widely recycled and can be easily reworked.
Please note that bright mild steel flat bars should not be used in applications where heavy stresses are involved. This type of flat bar is particularly suitable for lightly stressed components – such as shafts, studs, bolts and gears.
