Our Bright Mild Steel Flat Bar is EN3B grade which is a general purpose engineering steel suitable for use where heavy stresses are not invloved. It has good machinability and weldability. Suitable for lightly stressed components including shafts, studs, bolts and gears.

Mild Steel is sometimes referred to as carbon steel or plain steel. Typically mild steel and is stiff and strong. The corrosion resistance of carbon steels is poor and they do rust easily but they can be easily painted or primed. They are relatively cheap so they are the normal choice for most fabrications.
