EN8 grade round bars
EN8 grade bright mild steel round bars are sturdy and malleable with medium-strength properties. Thanks to their weldability, they’re perfect for general engineering purposes. They’re also less fragile than other mild steel, providing enhanced firmness compared to EN3 with a little less machinability.
Bright mild steel round bars are noted for their increased straightness and tighter tolerance, making them suitable for high-strength DIY needs such as fencing, gates and repairs. Thanks to their medium strength, they’re also ideal for shafts, screws, studs and keys, complete with a refined, polished finish.

Bright mild steel refers to black mild steel that’s been cold-finished and drawn. It offers a cleaner finish with more controlled shape and dimensions. The result is better straightness that lends itself to automatic bar-feeding.
With low carbon content and malleability, bright mild steel (including EN8) can be recycled and reworked with ease. The material also has a higher tolerance to tension and pressure than traditional mild steel.
